چکیده

Absolute total electron-scattering cross sections (TCSs) have been measured in the energy range from 0.5 to 370 eV for SO2 and from 6 to 370 eV for H2S molecules. Measurements have been carried out using modified electron spectrometer working in a linear transmission mode. The present results are compared to published experimental TCS data. Some aspects important for achieving accurate absolute total cross sections in an electron transmission experiment are discussed. r 2003 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.

Electron Scattering from Disilane (si 2 H 6 ) Molecules. Absolute Total Cross Section Measurements from 1 to 370 Ev Electron Scattering from Disilane (si 2 H 6 ) Molecules. Absolute Total Cross Section Measurements from 1 to 370 Ev

Absolute grand total cross sections (TCSs) for electron–disilane (Si2H6) scattering have been measured over the energy range from 1 to 370 eV in a linear transmission experiment. The low-energy TCS is dominated by a broad resonant-like enhancement. In the region of the maximum the present grand TCS values appeared to be distinctly lower than previously reported integral elastic cross section da...

Absolute total cross-section measurements for electron scattering from silicon tetrachloride, SiCl4, molecules

The absolute total cross-sections for electron scattering on SiCl4 molecules have been measured in two distinct electron-transmission experiments, in Gdańsk and in Trento laboratory, for impact energy ranging from 0.3 to 250 eV and from 75 to 4000 eV, respectively. The e–SiCl4 total cross-section function shows two very distinct resonant-like features: the strong peak at 1.9 eV and much broader...

Electron-Impact Ionization Cross Sections of Atmospheric Molecules

A theoretical model for electron-impact total ionization cross sections, which has been found to be reliable for a wide range of molecules, is applied to molecules of interest to atmospheric science. The new theory, the binary-encounter-Bethe (BEB) model, combines the binaryencounter theory and the Bethe theory for electron-impact ionization, and uses simple theoretical data for the ground stat...

Scattering of electrons from hydride molecules: PH3

An absolute total cross section (TCS) for electron scattering from phosphine (PH3) molecules was obtained in a linear transmission experiment at energies ranging from low (0.5 eV) to intermediate (370 eV). The dominant behaviour of the TCS energy function is a very pronounced low-energy enhancement with two distinct resonant-like humps peaked at around 2.4 and 6 eV. Above 10 eV the TCS is a rat...

Absolute cross sections for electron scattering from furan.

We report results of measurements and calculations of absolute cross sections for electron scattering from furan molecules (C(4)H(4)O). The experimental absolute differential cross sections (DCSs) for elastic electron scattering were obtained for the incident energies from 50 eV to 300 eV and for scattering angles from 20° to 110°, by using a crossed electron-target beam setup and the relative ...
